Kris Aquino’s close friend Dindo Balares has given fans a new glimpse into the actress-host’s current condition after spending 10 days with her amid her ongoing treatment at a private resort.
Balares took to his social media pages to share a photo of Aquino in pink pajamas, sitting on the edge of her bed while looking down and appearing dejected.
“‘Nakita mo na ang kalbaryo ko (Now you see my suffering), Kuya Dindo,’” Balares narrated in his caption. “This is what Kris said softly as she lay down, and I helped her adjust her head to the pillow.”
Balares noted that the conversation occurred when he visited and took care of Aquino for 10 days “at the private resort of her generous and caring family friends.”
“We had many conversations, and I asked for permission to write and share it with her loyal followers, including pictures. Kris agreed,” he said.
Balares said that seeing up close the health struggles of the Queen of All Media taught him valuable life lessons.
“Kris didn’t mean to, but she gave me the biggest lessons in life while I was taking care of her. I’ll write and post it; I just need to organize my thoughts first,” continued the writer-journalist.
Last month, Balares disclosed that Aquino is currently residing at a private beach until her next treatment or “tolerance trial” for her autoimmune diseases.
At the time, Balares also denied allegations that Aquino was in critical condition, stressing that she chose to maintain her silence amid false reports.
Aquino’s last public appearance was at the 18th birthday party of her youngest son Bimby last April. She also made a surprise appearance at PeopleAsia’s People of the Year Awards Night in February. /ra
