Lea Salonga attended the recent New York Yankees baseball game after she was tapped to sing the US national anthem at the event.

The award-winning Broadway superstar performed “The Star-Spangled Banner” with her powerful vocals, as seen in the video shared on the baseball team’s Facebook page on Tuesday, June 17.

“Thank you to Tony-Award Winning Actress Lea Salonga for tonight’s beautiful rendition of our National Anthem,” the caption read.

Salonga likewise shared a glimpse of her singing at the event through her Instagram Stories.

“Thanks for having me! Go [New York Yankees]!” she said.

Salonga currently leads the cast of Stephen Sondheim’s “Old Friends” on Broadway.

She is also set to star in the Philippine production of Sondheim’s “Into the Woods” in August, along with her son Nic. Salonga will play the role of the Witch, while Nic was cast as Jack.

In her decades-long career, Salonga received several accolades including a Laurence Olivier Award and a Tony Award. She is the first woman of Asian descent to ever win a Tony Award.

Salonga, who is known as the voice of Princess Jasmine from “Aladdin” and Fa Mulan for “Mulan and Mulan II,” was also bestowed the honor of “Disney Legend.”  /ra
